My grandpa died on Monday. I was thinking about making her something for Christmas.?
I was thinking about making a shadow box with a picture of my grandma and grandpa together, pink peppermints (cuz those were his favorite), a little John Deere tractor (he was a farmer and loves John Deere), and a little Mickey Mouse figurine (he loved Mickey Mouse). He was 79 years old. Plus they liked to go to the casino sometimes with their friends. So I was thinking maybe I could also put in a poker chip, and one or two of the cards from a deck–maybe like the King of Hearts and an Ace or something. Or maybe just one.
Do you think that this would be a good idea? The funeral is today and my mom is taking it really hard just like the rest of us. I wanted her to have something to remind her of him and all the things that made us happy about him and that he enjoyed. Let me know your thoughts.
I think that would make a wonderful gift. Just make sure it reminds her of all the good times!
I tried to make a gift for my uncle when my aunt passed away, and I bought a digital picture frame that shows several picture slides of them so it would remind him of her. Sure, he cried because it reminded him of the fact she’s gone, but he soon coped and he thanked me dearly for the gift.
